Children's Programs

The Kyle Public Library offers a variety of recurring and special programs designed for children ages 0-12.

Please note children under twelve (12) may not be left unattended in the library or at library programs. A sibling and/or a babysitter (age 17 or older) may accompany a young child; however, if the sibling or babysitter cannot control the younger child, the younger child shall be considered unattended.

Baby Time (0-18 months)

Wednesdays | 9:45 AM

Babies (along with their favorite grownup) will enjoy a shared story, songs, action rhymes, and play time together. Early literacy and child development tips and tricks for parents and caregivers will be included. Best suited for little ones who are not yet walking.

Toddler Storytime (18-36 months)

Wednesdays | 10:30 AM

Toddlers are invited to participate in stories, songs, fingerplays, and rhymes. This program is designed with two- and three-year-olds in mind. Little imaginations will be captured while building critical early literacy skills. Caregivers are encouraged to participate!

¡Los Cuentos Bilingüe! Bilingual Storytime (0-5 years)

Fridays | 9:45 AM

Bilingual Storytime is presented in English and Spanish. It is an opportunity for young children to engage through stories, finger plays, music, and activities.

Cuentos bilingües están presentados en inglés y español. Es una oportunidad en que los niños pueden aprender en la moda de cuentos, canciones, música, y actividades.

Family Storytime (0-12 years)

Saturday, June 27 and July 25 | 11 AM

Children and their grownups listen to stories, sing songs, and enjoy shared activities. Storytime is a time for families to have fun together and connect. All ages are welcome.

Makerspace Lab Lego Challenge (5-12 years)

1^st and 3^rd Mondays | 2 PM

Let your imagination run wild and explore your engineering skills as you create and build with LEGO blocks provided by the library. Challenges will be provided to test your creativity.

This is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available 30 minutes before the event.

Books, Blocks, and Balls (0-5 years)

Saturday, June 13 | 10 AM

Join us for a free, fun-filled event for families with children ages 0-5! Enjoy hands-on play, learning activities, and helpful tips to support your child's milestones.

Presented by Help Me Grow Central Texas.

Tween Time (9-12 years)

June 9, June 23, July 14 | 6 PM

Bring your friend, your cousin, or your neighbor to our newest children’s program! Tweens are invited to the library to try out the Makerspace, explore STEAM challenges, and game together. Each week, a new experience will be provided to our kids inbeTWEEN. Grownups are welcome to stay in the library.

Tween Watercolor with Judy (9-12 years)

Friday, June 26 | 1 PM

Let stress slide away as you make tiny explosions of color that look like magic you totally meant to do. Under the gentle and inspiring instruction of Judy, you will explore watercolor techniques while colors bloom and blend in the most relaxing way.

This is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available 30 minutes before the event.

Family Movie at the Library (all ages)

Friday, June 5 and July 17 | 1 PM

We're going to the movies! At the library! Join us as we screen a summertime movie.

Play and Learn (all ages)

Saturday, July 11 | 11 AM

Do you think you are the best at Uno? Maybe you're more of a puzzle person. Join us for an hour of playing! Families are invited to explore different types of games and activities.
