Community Events

The City of Kyle hosts several events throughout the year for our community. For a full list of programs and activities, see our upcoming events.

Heroes Memorial Park is a space for reflection, remembrance, and community connection. Throughout the year, the park hosts Memorial ceremonies, patriotic observances, and other programs that honor the service and sacrifice of military members, veterans, and first responders. These events bring the community together to remember, learn, and show appreciation in a respectful setting. Events include:

  • Memorial Day Ceremony: May 25, 2026 | 10:00 AM
  • United States Flag Retirement Ceremony: June 20, 2026 | 9:00 AM
  • 9/11 Observance Ceremony: September 11, 2026 | 9:30 AM
  • National First Responders Day Ceremony: October 28, 2026 | Time TBD

Join us for Storytime, hosted by the City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the Kyle Public Library. Each event features picture book readings geared toward children ages 3–7, plus a fun craft activity.

Storytime takes place outdoors—participants are welcome to bring chairs, blankets, food, and beverages.

September 19 – La Verde Park Pavilion, 3901 Burnham

The City of Kyle invites the community to share in the town’s birthday celebration at the annual Founders’ Parade on Saturday, October 10, 2026 starting at 11 a.m.

The town of Kyle was platted and the first lots sold sometime around the 15th of October, 1880. Parades through downtown around the middle of October have been a tradition since. The tradition lives on as we reflect and recognize the many founders of this great town.

**This event is weather dependent.

Viewing the Parade:

Residents and visitors are encouraged to enjoy the Founders Day Parade from locations along the route through the La Verde District. The parade will start on Burnham Drive, proceed east on Doherty Drive, then turn north on Cromwell Avenue before concluding at Avenue A. For the safety of all participants and spectators, please remain on sidewalks and grassy areas and stay out of the roadway during the parade.

Detour & Parade Route:

The Founders Day Parade will take place in the La Verde District, beginning on Burnham Drive, traveling east on Doherty Drive, and continuing north on Cromwell Avenue before ending at East Avenue A. Burnham Drive, Doherty Drive, and Cromwell Avenue along the parade route will be closed to traffic during the event. Road closures will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will reopen as soon as the parade concludes. Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid delays.
