Kick off our bocce season with the Kyle Knighthawks! Open to athletes 8 years and older, ready to learn, play, and have fun. Practices will be held Mondays from July 6th to August 24th from 7:00 PM to 7:45PM at Lake Kyle Park. Register at KyleRec.RecDesk.com.
The season concludes with participation in the Special Olympics Texas competition on August 29th at 9:00 AM in Round Rock, Tx at Lets Play Soccer.
Special Olympics Bocce is an inclusive and accessible sport that offers athletes with disabilities the opportunity to develop physical skills, teamwork, and strategic thinking in a fun and supportive environment. Individuals with any ability and skill levels are encouraged to participate!

Therapeutic Recreation
The City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department is thrilled to offer Therapeutic Recreation Services to connect people of all abilities together through accessible recreation, promoting independence, confidence, and improving overall quality of life. Therapeutic Recreation Services include both adaptive and inclusive programs, facilitated by Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS) and dedicated supporting staff. Kyle Knighthawks - Special Olympics Team
Join the Kyle Knighthawks Special Olympics team, where athletes of all abilities train and compete with heart and dedication! We currently offer bowling, soccer, bocce, and swimming, with practices designed to prepare athletes for Special Olympics Texas competitions. Check out the information below to see which sport is in season and how you can get involved!

- Swim Skills Group: Focuses on water safety, comfort in the pool, floating, breathing techniques, kicking, and introduction to basic swim movements.
- Traditional Swim Group: Focuses on stroke development (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly), endurance, starts, turns, and overall competition preparation.

Our All Abilities Dances are designed to bring people of all abilities together to celebrate, socialize, and enjoy music in a welcoming environment. The Social Squad
Welcome to The Social Squad - a social club for adults (15+) with disabilities. The Social Squad is your place to socialize, connect, and engage in fun recreational activities.
The Social Squad is a therapeutic recreation program designed to support adults with disabilities through engaging, purposeful, and socially enriching activities. Our goal is to foster connection, build confidence, promote independence, and encourage lifelong leisure skills in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Participants will engage in a variety of structured activities that support physical wellness, cognitive stimulation, creative expression, and meaningful social interaction—all while having fun and making friends!

- Demonstrate socially acceptable behaviors, including respect for self and others, and adherence to program guidelines.
- Independence in essential self-care tasks such as feeding and bathroom needs.
- Participants requiring additional support with medications, bathroom needs, and feeding may attend with an attendant or caregiver.**
