2022 Road Bond Program: Bebee Road Closure and Detour

This detour began on June 17, 2026 and will run through October 31, weather permitting. Bebee Road will be temporarily closed at IH-35 as part of the 2022 Road Bond Program construction project.

During the closure, traffic will be detoured through the new IH-35/Kohlers Crossing intersection and along the Kohlers Crossing extension, reconnecting with Bebee Road west of Republic Drive. One lane in each direction will remain open to accommodate through traffic.

Access to Lakeside Crossing from Bebee Road will remain open during this phase of construction.

The work being done on Bebee Road includes widening it from two lanes to four with a center turn lane, the addition of drainage, curbs, and sidewalks along both sides.

Motorists may experience delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible. Please follow all posted traffic control devices, watch for construction crews and equipment, and use extra caution when traveling through the work zone.

Starting July 13, 2026 and continuing through summer 2027, construction crews will be visible at the 5-way traffic stop at West Center Street and Old Stagecoach Road. Work includes potholing and building drainage improvements as part of the Center Street (Off-System) 2022 Road Bond Project. This work is independent and unaffected by ongoing intersection reevaluations.

All lanes will stay open, and traffic will not be impacted. Construction barrels along the edge of the road will mark relevant work zones. We ask that drivers increase their awareness and slow down in work zones. Construction zones protect workers, drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

A graphic that says 'TRAFFIC NOTICE' in call caps with Center Street (off-system) posted below with information on work being done at the 5-way all-stop at W. Center Street, N. Old Stagecoach Road, Cypress Road, and Pump House Road in Kyle.

Starting Monday, June 8 and going until Wednesday, October 28 Cypress Road from Old Stagecoach Road to Cold River Run will be closed for the developer-led installation of a force main wastewater line.

Work hours will be 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. During those times a detour and signage will be in place.

Individuals who live in the area will still be able to access their homes. Flagging operations will continue while the roadway is closed and the detour is in place; they will direct vehicle traffic for affected driveways and homes.

Drivers are asked to obey traffic signs, follow detours, watch for flaggers and heavy equipment, and drive with caution. This is a developer-led project being done by Cash Construction.

Starting Monday, June 15 and going until Friday, August 14, there will be intermittent lane closures on several roads in the Plum Creek neighborhood for a mill and overlay project led by the City of Kyle.

The following roads will be affected:

  • Powell from Kohlers to Kirby
  • Kirby from Powell to Hellman
  • Hellman from FM 2770 to Kirby
  • Sanders from Kirby to Fairway
  • Fergus from FM 2770 to Negley
  • Fergus from Haupt to Hartson
  • Wetzel from Veterans to Mather

Work hours will be from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. In the event of inclement weather, crews will return the next workday or when good weather permits.

Residents are asked to park vehicles in their driveway and not in the street. During construction, there will be times when the driving surface will be rough.

Drivers are asked to obey traffic signs, watch for flaggers and heavy equipment, and drive with caution. In the event of fresh oil being applied to the street, observe fresh oil signs and drive slowly.

For questions, contact Kyle 3-1-1.

Update 7/15/26: Closure extended due to weather delays.
Benner will be closed at the Kohlers Crossing intersection from Tuesday July 7 until Wednesday, July 22. The work will be performed by Texas Dry Utilities in support of the Kohlers PEC Ductbank project.
A detour route will be established via San Juan and Cromwell, and drivers are advised to follow all posted signage. This closure may cause delays, so motorists are encouraged to take alternate routes if possible, during this time. Drivers are asked to obey all traffic control devices and proceed with caution through the area.

Starting July TBD, westbound Kohlers Crossing will be reduced to one lane from FM 1626 to Everett Street starting for the installation of a 24" water transmission main.  The closure will be in place for approximately 6 weeks.  The closure will be in place around the clock until work is complete.

Drivers should expect delays in the area and are asked to slow down, follow posted signs, watch for workers and equipment, and use caution in the work zone.

This notice will be updated as dates are confirmed.
