The City of Kyle hosts several events throughout the year for our community. For a full list of programs and activities, see our upcoming events.

The City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department is bringing a little Lagniappe to your backyard with a Mardi Gras Celebration at La Verde Park on Fat Tuesday, February 17, from 6-8 p.m.

Join us at La Verde Park for a green, purple and gold celebration and enjoy music, King Cake, and food and drink vendors. Beads and masks will be available while supplies last.

Kyle Parks and Recreation Department hosts Movie in the Park nearly year-round at various parks in the city. 

Grab a blanket and a friend for another great season of FREE movies in the park, shown outdoors on the big screen. Personal food and coolers are allowed, but please dispose of items in the trash and recycle bins available throughout our parks. Pets are allowed but must remain on leash. Movies in the Park begin at sundown through the summer months, but we highly recommend arriving early as parking is limited.

Check out our FREE community concert series in Kyle! As the sun sets, settle in for live music, great food, and a relaxed, high-energy atmosphere at Jams on the Green at La Verde Park, 3901 Burnham from 6 - 9 p.m.

Bring your lawn chairs, grab a bite from local food vendors, and enjoy an evening filled with live performances and good company. It’s the perfect way to spend a night out with friends, family, and neighbors.

Jams on the Green takes place on the following dates:

Join the City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department for the Kyle Market Days at Mary Kyle Hartson Park from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the second Saturday of every month, excluding June, beginning in April and going through November!

Registration and a fee are required to apply. Vendors are encouraged to apply early as it takes 1-2 business days for applications to be processed. The deadline to apply and pay to participate in Kyle Markets Days is the Friday before the week of the Market Day.

Join us for the Easter Egg-Stravaganza on Saturday, April 4 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Gregg-Clarke Park. 

The Easter Egg-Stravaganza is fun-filled, community event that includes spectacular Easter Egg Hunts for children of nearly all ages and abilities as well as food and drink vendors, arts and crafts vendors, music, face painting, games, Easter Bunny photo opportunities and much more.

There is no cost for admission and no pre-registration is required. This is a weather-dependent event. 

Egg Drop Schedule

Vendor applications will open in early 2026. 

The Kyle Fair occurs yearly in mid-May at Lake Kyle Park.

It's like Movies in the Park but at the pool!

Grab your favorite floatie, a friend or two, and cool off at the Dive-In Movie at the James Adkins Pool, 1100 W. Center St. 

This year we're showing: 

  • Friday, June 19, 2026: Luca (2021, PG)
  • Friday, July 17, 2026: Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003)

Registration is REQUIRED due to capacity limits at the James Adkins Pool. All children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration can be done at KyleRec.RecDesk.com

Join the City of Kyle in celebrating the Fourth of July with the Independence Day Celebration Fireworks Show on July 4 at La Verde Park from 4-9 p.m. This family-friendly celebration will feature market vendors, food and drink vendors, fun and games, and live music leading up to a community countdown to a stunning 25-minute fireworks show at approximately 9 p.m.
Parking:

Fireworks are launched North of the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center. 

Residents will be able to watch the show from La Verde ParkHeroes Memorial Park, and the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center, 979 Kohlers Crossing. The show will also be able to be seen from many locations throughout Kyle. All residents viewing the fireworks display should exercise caution when selecting their viewing location and avoid parking on curbs, shoulders or medians.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, blankets, etc. to sit on as well as water bottles to refill and stay hydrated. 

  • Canopy tents will NOT BE ALLOWED at La Verde Park or Heroes Memorial Park.
  • BBQ Pits will NOT BE ALLOWED at the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center, La Verde Park or Heroes Memorial Park. 

Shuttles will be available from the Hays CISD Performing Arts Center Parking lot to transport attendees to the La Verde Park entrance. 

Traffic:

During Kyle’s Independence Day Fireworks Show on Friday, July 4 at La Verde Park, there will be road closures, increased traffic, noise and fireworks. 

The following roads will be barricaded, eliminating  turnaround eligibility, during the firework display on Friday, July 4:

  • FM 1626 at Kohlers Crossing
  • Kohlers Crossing at Benner
  • Kohlers Crossing at Cromwell Drive
  • Kohlers Crossing at Kyle Crossing
  • FM 1626 at Dorman
  • Marketplace at the I-35 Access Road
  • Kyle Parkway at the I-35 Access Road
  • Cromwell Drive from first to last roundabout

In the understanding that while fireworks can be a celebration for some, they can also be stressful for others. Pet owners are asked to also take steps to protect pets from fireworks by leaving them at home and keeping them safely inside, shielded from loud noises. Apartment Entrances will NOT be closed

Safety:

It is unlawful for any person to sell, use or discharge fireworks within the City of Kyle, except under special permit as authorized by the city or in the fire code adopted by the city. Any person in violation of this ordinance may be charged with a class C misdemeanor and can be fined be as high as $2,000.

The City of Kyle invites the community to share in the town’s birthday celebration at the annual Founders’ Parade on Saturday, October 10, 2026 starting at 11 a.m. 

The town of Kyle was platted and the first lots sold sometime around the 15th of October, 1880. Parades through downtown around the middle of October have been a tradition since. The tradition lives on as we reflect and recognize the many founders of this great town.

Viewing the Parade:

The best locations to view the Kyle Founders' Parade are on either side of Center Street between Gregg-Clarke Park and Mary Kyle Hartson Park. To keep everyone safe, the city is asking attendees to stay on sidewalks or grassy areas along Center Street and to not run into the street when the parade is going by.

After Celebration:

After the parade, a celebration for the city’s birthday will be held on Burleson and Main Street and will include birthday cupcakes, music and lots of family fun along with the Kyle Market Days from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. 

Detour & Parade Route:

The parade route will start at Gregg-Clarke Park and travel along Center Street, ending at Front Street on the City Square. Center Street from Ramirez Street to just past Front Street will be closed to traffic during the parade. Traffic will be detoured using N. Front Street, Blanco Street, and Veterans Drive. Parade closures begin at 10:30 a.m. and will reopen as soon as the parade wraps up. 

There will be additional street closures for the October Market Days. Starting at 5:30 a.m. and going until 3 p.m. on Oct. 11 the following streets will be closed:  

  • Burleson Street from Center Street to Miller Street
  • Miller Street from Burleson Street to Main Street

Join us for the Center Street Trick-or-Treat on Saturday, October 26, 2026 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.* at Mary Kyle Hartson Park, 101 S. Burleson St. 

At this family-friendly event, local businesses and organizations set up tents at tables at Mary Kyle Hartson City “Scare” Park to provide a fun and safe opportunity for trick-or-treating. We invite all “ghosts” and “goblins” young and old to come out to our Treat Trail for some morning trick-or-treating as well as a costume contest! 

Food and drink vendors will also be on site as well as a few vendors that sell children’s items. Halloween photos will be available inside the Krug Activity Center. 

Costume Contests

  • Ages 0 - 5 years: 9:00 am - 9:30 am
  • Ages 6- 12 years: 9:45 am - 10:00 am
  • Ages 13-18 years: 10:15 am - 10:30 am
  • Ages 19 and up years: 10:45 am - 11:00 am
  • Group of 2 or more: 11:05 am - 11:15 am
  • Booth judging: 11:30 am

Join the City of Kyle in honoring our nation's veterans at the 2025 Veterans Day Parade and festivities in downtown Kyle on Saturday, November 14, 2026.

The Veterans Day Parade will happen in conjunction with Market Days, which includes live music, local vendors, arts and crafts, farm-to-market items, and more. Market Days goes from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Mary Kyle Hartson Park. 

Parade Route Details & Viewing:  

The parade begins at 11:45 a.m. and travels East along Center Street from Gregg-Clarke Park and ends at Front Street on the City Square. The best locations to view the Kyle Veterans Day Parade are on either side of Center Street between Gregg-Clarke Park and Mary Kyle Hartson Park. Several street closures will be in effect due to the parade and Market Days. Join us in welcoming Santa to the City of Kyle on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2026 from 4-9 PM at Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park, 101 S. Burleson St. Bring your family and friends for the official kick-off to the Holidays in Kyle. Since 1999, the city has invited Santa to Mary Kyle Hartson Park to be a part of the downtown tree-lighting event, and he's been at every one since! 

Come enjoy holiday music performed by local school choirs, photos with Santa, face painting, free kids activities, and get a head start on Christmas shopping with our festive food and holiday market vendors.

Pictures with Santa

Santa will be available for FREE pictures. Pictures must be taken with your own personal camera or device. A professional photographer will not be present. The doors will open at 4:00 p.m. and the line will be cut off at a certain point at 8 p.m. 

Street Closure & Parking

Starting at 8 a.m. and going until 11 p.m. on Dec. 1 the following streets will be closed for the event:

  • Burleson Street from Center Street to Miller Street
  • Miller Street from Burleson Street to Main Street
  • Main Street from Center Street to Miller Street

Parking for the event will be available on adjacent streets downtown.

The Kyle Police Department and City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department are partnering to provide Santa Rides in Kyle. Children will have the opportunity to wave and see Santa as he rides through the City of Kyle visiting designated neighborhoods.

Every year Santa, escorted by the Kyle Police Department and Kyle Parks and Recreation Department, rides through Kyle to wave hello to all the good boys and girls. Stay tuned for 2026 Santa Rides in Kyle dates.

Santa starts his ride at 5 p.m. each night and goes through town until about 8:30 p.m. (or however long it takes Santa and his crew to get through town.)

Santa is very busy this holiday season and will not be able to go down every street in Kyle, so residents are asked to check out the *Suggested Santa Viewing Spots *starred* along the route maps to wave and say hello.  

The mastermind of Christmas crime is making his return to Kyle and wants you — yes YOU — to join him for Grinch on the Green, a celebration of all things mean and green, at La Verde Park, 3901 Burnham (2026 dates TBA).

This Whobilation GRINCHY celebration is a free family-friendly event with something fun for everyone. Enjoy sweet treats, market vendors, live music, photos with the one and only Grinch (bring a non-perishable food donation to get a photo), free activities for children, Grinch movie screenings, and more!

It's the most wonderful time of the year — The City of Kyle's 25 Days of Christmas! Throughout the month of December, we will have nightly holiday lights, Christmas music (including live music on select nights), and local vendors at Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park, 101 S. Burleson St. Events held Thursday, Friday and Sunday take place between 5:30 - 9 p.m. Events held Saturday take place from 2 - 9 p.m.

It all starts Dec. 1 and goes until Dec. 25. 

  • Monday - Wednesdays: Holiday light display and Holiday music as you stroll the wonderful Mary Kyle Hartson Park.
  • Thursdays Date Nights: Join us on date night Thursday with that special person. Enjoy live music, food and drink vendors and holiday lights from 5:30-9 p.m.
  • Family Fun Fridays: Spend your Friday night with the family at Kyle Kandy Land and enjoy crafts and activities for kids along with lights and holiday music! Pictures must be taken with your own personal camera or device. A professional photographer will not be present. Event runs from 5:30 - 9:00 p.m. with Santa arriving at approximately 6 p.m.
  • Shopping Saturdays: Check out market and food and drink vendors and enjoy live music during our holiday night market.
  • Social Sundays: The City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating Social Sundays from 5:30 - 9 p.m. To take part, stop by the park, enjoy a lawn game or two, take pictures of you and your loved ones and share it with the hashtag #KyleParksandRecreation.

Holiday Lights will be on every day from 5:30 p.m. - 7 a.m. during the holiday season. 

Splash into the New Year at a longtime Kyle Tradition and register for the 2027 Polar Bear Splash at James Adkins Pool, 1100 W. Center St, on Friday, January 1 starting at 10 a.m.

Registration is required to participate. Registration can be done on KyleRec.RecDesk.com.

For the Love of Go Resolution Run

Need a New Year's Resolution? Start the year off strong by joining in the annual 5k Resolution Run that happens right before the Polar Bear Splash. The event will be hosted at Gregg-Clarke Park, 1231-1301 W. Center St, on January 1st at 9:00 A.M.

If you participate in the 5K run and the Polar Bear Splash, you will receive a special commemorative item!
