Youth and Teen Programs

The Kyle Public Library offers a variety of recurring and special programs designed for children ages 0-17.

Please note children under twelve (12) may not be left unattended in the library or at library programs. A sibling and/or a babysitter (age 17 or older) may accompany a young child; however, if the sibling or babysitter cannot control the younger child, the younger child shall be considered unattended.

Preschool Storytime (3-5 years)

Mondays | 9:45 AM

Storytime is an opportunity for parents to introduce their children to reading and language in a fun, creative way. Enjoy interactive stories, songs, and other activities that encourage emerging language skills.

Baby Storytime (0-18 months)

Tuesdays and Thursdays | 9:45 AM

Babies (along with their favorite adult) enjoy songs, action rhymes, and playtime, as well as sharing a book together in each lively Baby Lapsit.

Toddler Storytime (18-36 months)

Tuesdays and Thursdays | 10:30 AM

Enjoy interactive stories, felt boards, songs, and activities that encourage a toddler’s emerging language skills.

¡Los Cuentos Bilingüe! Bilingual Storytime (0-5 years)

Wednesdays | 9:45 AM

Bilingual Storytime is presented in English and Spanish. It is an opportunity for young children to engage through stories, finger plays, music, and activities.

Cuentos bilingües están presentados en inglés y español. Es una oportunidad en que los niños pueden aprender en la moda de cuentos, canciones, música, y actividades.

PJ Storytime (3-6 years)

2^ndand 4^th Wednesdays | 6 PM

Let's get our wiggles out and our sleepy time started during this evening story time. We'll sing songs, dance, and settle into some wonderful stories just in time for bedtime.

STEAM Wednesdays (5-12 years)

1^st and 3^rd Wednesdays | 6 PM

Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday, we will imagine, build, or explore the natural world. Themes change weekly.

This is a ticketed event. Tickets may be picked up 30 minutes before program start time. Spots are limited to 15 children.

Discovery Time (0-5 years)

1^st and 3^rd Fridays | 9:45 AM

Discover and explore sensory experiences, like sand, water, and dirt. Discovery Time offers activities that provide learning opportunities through creative play. Dress to get dirty or wet.

Play and Learn (18 months-5 years)

Saturday, October 11 | 2 PM

Children are invited to learn through play in a variety of activities including arts & crafts, games, physical play, and imaginative play.

Dino-Vember (18 months-5 years)

Saturday, November 8 | 10 AM

Dinosaurs have invaded the library! It’s a celebration of dinosaurs. Enjoy dinosaur themed activities and crafts.

Gobble Gobble! Thanksgiving for Kids (3-12 years)

Saturday, November 22 | 10 AM

Come and share your gratitude at the library. A variety of crafts will be offered. This is a come & go event for children.

Let it Snow! (3-5 years)

Saturday, December 13 | 10 AM

Explore and experience the magic of snow in Texas. Children are invited to play in the snow through reading and science.

Tuesday, October 7 | 5 PM

From acing your next paper to conquering college applications, the Kyle Public Library has your back. Learn about resources to help with research for projects, term papers, homework, test preparation, skill development, and college and career prep.

Teen Tuesdays: Craft Night (13-17 years)

Tuesday, October 14 and December 9 | 5 PM

Get creative at Teen Craft Night! Try out fun DIY projects and make something unique to take home. We will have the materials for you to create.

Haunted San Antonio: A Magic Show (13-17 years)

Saturday, October 18 | 12 PM

Are you ready for some chilling tales of murder, monsters, and ghosts based on urban legends and ghost stories? This program will have all of that along with magic and humor.

Teen Tuesdays: Makerspace (13-17 years)

Tuesday, October 28 and November 18 | 5 PM

Teens are invited to the makerspace to experiment with 3D printing and doodling.

Teen Study Hall (13-17 years)

Tuesday, December 2 | 5-7:30 PM

Saturday, December 6 | 10 AM-12 PM
