Children's Tiny Art (5-12 years)
Display your artistic talents in our 3rd Annual Tiny Art Show!
Pick up a tiny artist kit from the library’s main desk. Return your mini painting to the library by the deadline listed below to be part of the showcase!
The tiny artist kit includes: a tiny canvas, brush, and a small form to tell us about the inspiration behind your painting.
Ages 5-12 Important Dates
· March 2 – March 21: Pick up kits
· March 25: Tiny art due
· March 28: Children’s Tiny Art Showcase Reception
· March 28 – April 11: Tiny art on display
· April 11 – April 18: Artwork available to pick up by artist
Entry Criteria:
- Open to artists 5 years and older
- You may use your own paint/other supplies if you’d like (as long as it's on the provided mini canvas)
- Art pieces must be brought to the library by the deadline to be included in the showcase
- Artwork must be picked up by the designated date after the reception
- Art must be appropriate for all ages
Discovery Time (18 months-5 years)
1st and 3rd Fridays | 9:45 AM
Children are invited to explore sensory bins filled with safe, tactile materials designed for little hands. They can scoop, pour, and discover while building fine-motor and early learning skills in a relaxed, drop-in setting that encourages curiosity and open-ended play. Dress for mess and hands-on fun.
Sweethearts Celebration (0-5 years)

Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the library! We’ll start with a fun storytime, then dive into crafty Valentine creations. Make a card, design a sweetheart craft, or create a thoughtful gift to share with someone you love. Come spread kindness, creativity, and lots of heart!
Spring Break Programs (3-12 years)
March 16 - March 20 | 1 PM
Celebrate spring break at the library! Children and families are invited to explore, create, and play together in a fun, welcoming library space. Activities marked * are come & go style.
03/16 – Process Art* - Embrace the mess, risk and effort! Make art focusing on the process of creating rather than the final product. All supplies are provided by the library.
03/17 – Let’s Build!* - Join us for an hour of building! Various materials for building will be offered, including Legos, blocks, straws, and newspaper. Challenges will be given.
03/18 – Scavenger Hunt* - Bring a friend or family member to hunt at the library. Search inside and out for library-related characters. Find all the characters to receive a prize.
03/19 – Movie at the Library – We’re going to the movies! Join us in the meeting room as we watch a springtime movie.
03/20 – Dance Party – Break it down! Bring your best dance moves and groove as we play popular dance music.
Littles Prom (0-5 years)
Saturday, April 11 | 2 PM
You are cordially invited to the 2nd annual KPL Littles Prom. Bring your littles ones in their favorite dress, suit, or other party attire for some dancing, snacks, and crafts! We will provide all the décor, snacks, and fun. (Or if they prefer to come as a fairy, dinosaur, or other fun outfit, that totally works too.) Photo ops will be available.
Bubbles, Bubbles, and More Bubbles! (0-5 years)

Spring is in bloom at the library. We are celebrating with a bubble party!
Join us for a whimsical wonderland filled with colorful bubbles of all shapes and sizes! From tiny bubbles that tickle your nose to gigantic bubbles that dance in the air, there's something magical for every little one to enjoy. Bring your little bubble enthusiasts to the library to make a splash at our Bubble Party!
Note: Weather permitting; this program will be held outdoors.
