The Kyle Public Library offers a variety of programs designed for adults ages 18 and up. Find descriptions below of the adult recurring and special events we have planned for January-May 2026.

Magic: The Gathering Commander Play (18+)

1st Saturdays | 12-3:45 PM

Casual Commander play with casual folks. 100 card deck fun.

 

Community Yoga (18+)

1st and 3rd Tuesdays | 6:30 PM

Hatha style class appropriate for all experience levels. It is based on mindful movement and will leave you feeling refreshed and relaxed.

 

Crafty Creations (18+)

Select Wednesdays | 1 PM

Crafternoon for Grown-Ups! Spark your creativity with hands-on crafting, no two sessions are the same.

Page Turners Book Club (18+)

4th Thursdays | 6:45 PM

The Page Turners Book Club invites readers to connect over a shared love of books. Each month, members explore a new title and come together for lively discussions, thoughtful insights, and community connection in a welcoming environment.

Storytelling Night (18+)

3rd Thursdays | 6:30 PM

Share your story and discover your voice! Whether you craft something original or reimagine a familiar tale, this is your space to play, experiment, and connect. Explore our theme or choose a topic that inspires you. We’ll create the atmosphere—your imagination does the rest.

Themes: February – Winter and companionship; March – Spring and growth; April – Poetry

 

Coffee and Conversation (18+)

2nd Fridays | 10 AM

Enjoy coffee and conversation! Meet new friends and reconnect with old ones. We will offer coffee, tea, light snacks, and a variety of puzzles to work on together while you chat. If you enjoy crocheting, feel free to bring your supplies and enjoy the company of others while you create.

Textile Wall Hanging Craft (18+)

Saturday, February 7 | 10 AM

Spark your creativity and connect with others as you craft beautiful wall hangings from yarn, beads, and bells. This workshop, presented by Aging is Cool, offers a fun and supportive environment for all adults, including those who may need a little extra assistance.

*This is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available 30 minutes before the program.*

 

Growing Spring Vegetables (18+)

Spring is almost here! Learn about planting and caring for spring vegetables in this program organized by the Hays County Master Gardeners and presented by Emily Statts from the Comal County Master Gardeners.

 

Adult Tiny Art Studio (18+)

Thursday, February 12 | 6 PM

Do you need space to create your art for the Teen and Adult Tiny Art Showcase? This session is for adults. We will provide ample space to create and offer a variety of painting supplies and other materials to choose from.

 

Speed Friending (18+)

Saturday, February 21 | 1 PM

Making friends as an adult is challenging, but you're not alone! This fun, relaxed, and stress-free event is designed to foster genuine connections. You'll engage in a series of quick, friendly chats. Start your own conversation or use the provided thought-provoking conversation starters. Afterward, enjoy light refreshments or get creative, making a custom keychain for a new acquaintance or yourself! You might just find a conversation partner that turns into a cherished, lasting friendship.

 

Coping with Stress Workshop (18+)

Thursday, March 12 | 6:30 PM

Burnout isn’t just stress — it’s a signal that something deeper needs attention. In this workshop, participants will learn to recognize the signs of burnout, understand the emotional and physical toll it takes, and discover evidence-based strategies for recovery and prevention.

This workshop will be presented by Katarina Lane, MA, LMFT-Associate | Innerbloom Family Therapy, and Siobahn Garcia, MA, LMFT-Associate |Alliance Counseling.

 

World of Herbs (18+)

Explore the world of herbs with Vickie Callahan of the Comal County Master Gardeners. This program is brought to you by the Hays County Master Gardeners.

 

Craft Swap (18+)

Saturday, March 21 | 9:30 AM - 3 PM

Calling all crafters!

Do you have supplies you no longer need or leftover materials from past projects? Bring them to our Craft Supply Swap and go home with something new to spark your creativity! Those who make a donation will receive a ticket for early entry to the event. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!

Beginner Watercolor Class (18+)

Thursday, April 2 | 6 PM

Let stress slide away as you enter a space filled with warm light, soft brushwork, and drifting watercolor hues. Under the encouraging instruction of Ms. Va, you’ll explore simple watercolor techniques while colors bloom and blend in the most relaxing way.

This is a ticketed event. Tickets will be available 30 minutes before the program.

 

Laws of the Land...scape (18+)

Saturday, April 4 | 1 PM

Gain a better understanding of the laws about landscaping in Texas. Presented by Julienne VanDerZiel with Hays County Master Gardeners.

 

Adult Resume Workshop (18+)

Thursday, April 23 | 6 PM

A powerful resume is your key to unlocking great new career opportunities. Learn how to tailor your resume to match your skills to employment opportunities that suit you. As an added benefit, you will be prepared to make a strong impression at the upcoming Adult Career Fair at the Kyle Public Library on Wednesday, April 29.

 

Interview Tips Workshop (18+)

Friday, April 24 | 3 PM

Your resume and cover letter got you to the interview stage! Now what? Learn how to make a strong impression that helps you stand out! Get tips on how to handle impromptu interviews, such as those that might occur at job fairs. This workshop will help you prepare for the Adult Career Fair being held at the Kyle Public Library on Wednesday, April 29.

 

Adult Career Fair (18+)

Wednesday, April 29 | 1 - 4 PM

Are you a local job seeker ready to take the next step in your career? Bring your resume, a photo ID, and your best first impression to this free job fair. Local businesses are always looking for great talent, and this is an opportunity you won’t want to miss.

 

The library will provide free professional headshots, which will be emailed to participants after the event.

 

Line Dancing (18+)

Saturday, May 2 | 2 PM

Ready for an afternoon packed with fun and movement? Step into some fun line dancing! It’s a fantastic way to boost your balance, coordination, and fitness—plus, it’s the perfect excuse to get out and enjoy the day! This workshop, presented by Aging is Cool, offers a fun and supportive environment for all adults, including those who may need a little extra assistance.
