Residential Rain Barrel Water Conservation Program (Pilot)
Purpose:
The City of Kyle wants to encourage residents to conserve water by collecting and storing rainwater for later use. City of Kyle residential Storm Drainage Utility customers are encouraged to apply for the following incentive for rain barrel/rainwater harvesting systems.
Eligibility:
- Only current City of Kyle Storm Drainage Utility customers are eligible to participate in the incentive program.
- Customer account must be current with no outstanding balance on their Kyle utility bill.
- Customers must have an original receipt of purchase included with the application to receive the incentive.
- Only complete applications will be considered.
- Only new products purchased after October 15, 2024 are eligible for the incentive.
- Pilot program is limited to the first 50 applicants who qualify and submit a complete application with receipts.
- Limited to 1 rain barrel per household.
Qualifying Devices:

Rain barrels must store a minimum of 50 gallons.
Application information:
- The application must include complete customer contact information for the incentive
- Maximum amount of reimbursement is $200.
- Sales tax will NOT be reimbursed.
- Residents have 30 days to install the rain barrel and City stormwater staff will verify installation before issuing reimbursement.
