Current Drought Stage & Watering Restrictions

Stage 2 Amnded Drought Restrictions are in effect

At the July 16, 2025 Council Meeting, the Kyle City Council approved rolling back certain drought restrictions for City of Kyle water customers due to the addition of Alliance Water Phase 1B and the Green Valley SUD agreement. Together, these efforts increased the city’s total water supply by 2.37 million gallons per day (MGD), or approximately 37 percent. The added supply allows the City to transition from Amended Stage 3 to Amended Stage 2 Drought Restrictions, effective Thursday, July 17, 2025.

Under Amended Stage 2 Drought Restrictions, water customers using drip irrigation or soaker hoses may water once a week. Hose-end sprinklers, spray, or in-ground irrigation systems remain limited to once every other week. Watering hours for all customers are extended to 7 p.m. to midnight on their designated watering day.

As outlined in ordinance 569, that governs our Drought Plan, failure to comply with this ordinance can result in a fine of up to $2,000. Residents are asked to check and adjust all automatic irrigation systems to make sure they align with the current watering schedule.
