Understanding Your Utility Bill

1. Customer Name and Mailing Address:
This is the name and address for recipient of bill; may be different than the Service Address.
2. Account Information:
This is where you find your Account Number, Service Address, Billing Date, and Dates of Service. Please refer to this section should you need to contact our Utility Billing Department with questions.
3. Due Date:
Date the Current Charges are due to avoid receiving Delinquency Notice.
4. Current Charges:
Description of charges including, water, waste water, storm drainage, and refuse (trash) for services incurred in “Service From” dates listed in Section 2.  The following are listed on your bill:
- Water Minimum Charge - This is a monthly fixed charge to each customer receiving water service. This fixed charge covers the city's cost of maintaining the water meter, reading the meter, preparing, and sending the bill for water services and customer service/support personnel. This monthly fixed charge is the same each month and is not prorated.
- Water Usage Charge - This charge is for the actual water usage at your home address. In other words, this charge is for the actual gallons of water that passed through the water meter and was used either inside the home (kitchen, bathroom) or outside the home (car washing, irrigation systems/sprinklers). This charge will fluctuate each month depending on the number of gallons you use.
- WW (Wastewater) Minimum Charge - WW stand for Wastewater which is the same as sewer. This is also a monthly fixed charge allocated to each customer receiving wastewater collection service. This fixed charge covers a portion of the City's cost of maintaining the sewer collection system, preparing, and sending the bill for wastewater (sewer) services, and for customer service/support personnel. The monthly fixed charge is the same each month and is not prorated.
- WW (Wastewater) Service Charge - This charge is for the dirty water and solids from the bathrooms discharge at your home address into the City's sanitary sewer system for collection and treatment. In other words, this charge is for the actual gallons of dirty water that is sent or discharged from inside your home through the plumbing system of your home (kitchen, bathroom). This charge is estimated based on your wastewater average that is calculated using your actual water usage during the winter months of Nov-Jan & adjusts every April.
- Storm Drainage - The Storm Drain & Flood Risk Mitigation Utility (SD&FRMU) as passed by City Council on November 15, 2016, to improve and maintain the city's drainage infrastructure.
- Refuse Collection - This is a fixed monthly charge for picking up refuse (GARBAGE) and recycling materials from your home. Whether you place your trash out once a month or every week you are still charged the same amount each month. Trash, Recycling and Compost containers belong to Texas Disposal Services, therefore you don't pay anything for having the containers at your residence, only for the service.
- Refuse Admin Fee - This monthly fee is a fixed amount and is designed to recover the City's cost of preparing and sending account statement (monthly bill) for refuse/garbage and recycling services, and for customer service/support personnel.
- Refuse Franchise Fee - This is a fee charged to customers by Texas Disposal System for having been granted a franchise by the City of Kyle for providing garbage and recycling services within the city limits of Kyle.
- Tax - This is for sales tax on refuse/garbage collection services portion only. This is mandated by the State of Texas.
5. Total Due:
This is the total amount due on the account for the services showed in Section 3.
6. Usage History Graph:
You can view your consumption across previous billing cycles in a graphical format in this section. 
7. Special Message:
Important messages about your account and/or general city-wide news will appear here.
8. Payment Coupon:
Please tear off and remit this coupon with your payment in the envelope supplied if mailing via USPS, paying in person, or dropping off at one of our night drops located in the Kyle City Hall Drive Thru or VFW parking lot on Front Street.
9. Remit Address:
When sending payment, this address must be visible through the window of the return envelope.
**Customer Responsibility - Failure to receive a bill or a disconnection notice does not exempt a customer from responsibility to make payment. Customers may review billing and make payments online.
