Fiber Internet Expansion in Kyle

Learn about the ongoing Fiber internet installation projects across the city.

AT&T Fiber is actively working to expand their fiber optic network to the Kyle area that will offer residents fast internet.

The process includes locating existing utilities followed by the placement of the equipment as close to existing equipment as possible.

AT&T Fiber, or a subcontracted company, will place door tags at each home affected before the work begins with information and contact info for residents with questions or concerns.

All work will be performed in designated utility easements on the property. They will use a method of directional boring to install the conduit, at a depth of approximately 36 inches. Contractors performing construction will be taking before and after pictures and will repair any damage to grass, yards, landscaping, sprinkler systems, etc.

All construction is weather dependent.

Frontier is expanding the reach of its fiber network so homes and businesses can benefit from Frontier’s mission to Build Gigabit America.

Frontier now offers internet service as fast as 2 gigabit per second, allowing consumers to upload videos and files up to 50 times faster than the broadband service offered by cable companies in Texas. That means more people in the same household can enjoy great speeds at the same time, while working from home, home schooling, streaming, or just surfing the web.

You’ll notice a lot of activity in your surrounding areas. Before Frontier brings fiber to your neighborhoods, they will:

  • Secure city and local permits;
  • Locate other utilities to avoid impacting existing facilities;
  • Place door tags at each home affected 48 hours before the work begins with information and contact info for residents with questions or concerns.
  • Create a path for their network and set up connection points to bring fiber to customers; and
  • Conduct technical and engineering work in their central office facilities and on the network itself.
  • Repair any damage to grass, yards, landscaping, sprinkler systems, etc.

Beginning in late October, work will begin in the Kensington Trails, Sunset Hills, and Bluebonnet Estates neighborhoods.

Grande will place door tags at each home affected before the work begins with information and a dedicated phone number for residents to call with questions or concerns. LJA engineering will oversee the construction in all neighborhoods. Representatives in a truck with an LJA logo on the side will also be on site during construction to field any questions or concerns.
