Property Maintenance Program

Program Details

The City of Kyle is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to alleviate substandard living conditions for people who need critical repairs to live safely at home but cannot afford the repairs on their own. While our program is open to all households that meet our eligibility guidelines, our program typically serves seniors and people with disabilities who have limited resources to complete the repairs themselves.

This partnership provides services to low-income homeowners who own and occupy their homes in Kyle.

The program can perform repairs on homes that are freestanding, single-family homes. The program is also able to serve manufactured homes so long as the home is on a permanent foundation and the homeowner owns both the home and the land the house resides on.

Types of Repairs

Austin Habitat utilizes the nationally recognized Green and Healthy Home Initiative to provide a holistic, whole house approach to critical repairs and to prioritize repairs based on the highest impact for clients. This program is not meant for cosmetic changes – it is meant to improve the safety, accessibility, and health of your home.

Repairs examples include:

  • Installing smoke & CO detectors

  • Roofing repairs/replacement

  • Electrical repairs & upgrades
