Public art, in its most basic definition, is art in public spaces. While the term may evoke images of bronze statues, today public art can be much more – from murals to artist-designed features of public spaces and buildings to utility box wraps. What all these kinds of public art have in common is that they are free and accessible for everyone's enjoyment and inspiration, and altogether they help define what a city is all about and provide a unique way of experiencing the city.
2026 Public Art Master Plan

The City of Kyle Public Art Survey was open between Thursday, June 12 and Friday, August 1. The survey asked Kyle residents what types of Public Art they would like to see incorporated, and encouraged them to recommend locations for projects, and share feedback.
Survey results are being used to create a Public Art Master Plan to guide the strategic placement, funding, and management of public art throughout the community. This plan will serve as a framework to align public art initiatives with the City's values, enhance public spaces, support local artists, and promote cultural engagement and will support the work of the Arts and Cultural Board. The plan will help identify how public art helps the city achieve its overall goals, recommend locations for projects, and lay out a process for managing projects.
The plan will include public input, identify priority locations, and recommend policies for selection, maintenance, and future growth of the public art program.
The Public Art Master Plan is currently being developed and is expected to be presented to Council in early 2026.

Throughout the Fall of 2025, Bressi will work with the Arts and Cultural Board and City staff to develop a plan that they will present to Council.
