Open Records Requests

Open records requests must be submitted in writing. You may submit your request in any of the following ways:

  • GovQA Portal (Preferred - this is the fastest way to get records. Choose City or Police)
  • Hand delivery to Attn: City Secretary at 1700 Kohlers Crossing (Public Safety Center)
  • Email to openrecords@cityofkyle.com (Office of the City Secretary)
  • United States mail: Attn: City Secretary, 1700 Kohlers Crossing, Kyle, TX 78640

All requests received via mail, email or hand delivery will be added to the GovQA Portal, and this is how the City will communicate with you regarding your request. All documents will be released through the portal, unless mailed copies are specifically requested. There will be a fee for copies and postage if you chose to have documents mailed to you.

The Public Information Act does not require a governmental body to create new information, do legal research, or to answer questions.
