City of Kyle to Host Groundbreaking Ceremony on Kyle Park, a 101-Acre Mixed-Use Destination

KYLE, TEXAS – On Wednesday, February 4, the City of Kyle and NewQuest Properties will host a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Kyle Park, a 101-acre mixed use development, at 246 Republic Drive at 11 a.m.

Kyle Park is located at the northwest corner of Interstate 35 and Bebee Road. It is being developed by NewQuest Properties and features a multi-phase mix of retail, restaurants, specialty shops, wellness and personal care services, with additional opportunities for office space and entertainment options.

Current confirmed businesses include anchor tenants like Dick’s Sporting Goods, TJ Maxx and Barnes and Noble, popular restaurants like BJ’s Brewhouse, Gringo’s and Raising Canes, with additional shopping, retail and dining opportunities to be announced. See below for a full list of confirmed tenants.

“Kyle Park represents the next step in expanding a portfolio we’re incredible proud of”, said Austin Alvis, President of NewQuest Properties. “Our team is committed to delivering high-impact, high-quality developments, and this project reflects exactly what we do best. We thank the community leaders in Kyle for their partnership and helping make this project a success.”

Strategically positioned along I-35, the development is positioned to serve residents of South Austin and the greater Hays and Caldwell County region, attracting daily visitors, creating new jobs, and strengthening Kyle’s role as the county’s premier shopping and employment destination.  The project, approved by Kyle City Council in December 2023, is estimated to create at least 800 full-time jobs and generate at least $2.5 million in sales taxes and $1 million in property taxes annually.

“Retail leakage studies have shown that Kyle residents regularly drive to neighboring cities to shop due to a lack of options,” said Rosie Truelove, Executive Director of Strategic Development. “Kyle Park addresses that challenge head-on by expanding retail and dining options here at home and we’re grateful for the support of Hays County in bringing this project forward.”

A portion of the development will include multifamily housing, creating a built-in customer base and residential community that includes connections to the planned Vybe Trail.

“We’re thrilled to bring Kyle Park to life for the residents of Kyle. This project will introduce a thoughtfully curated mix of retail, restaurants, and experiences that serve the community and elevate everyday living,” said Andrew Alvis, Senior Vice President/Development Partner of NewQuest Properties. “Our goal is to create a vibrant destination where people want to gather, shop and spend time – and Kyle Park will deliver exactly that.”

The development is being built right alongside two of the city’s 2022 Road Bond Projects: The Bebee Road realignment and expansion, and the Kohlers to Seton project that extends Kohlers Crossing from Seton Parkway to the I-35 frontage road and the construction of a new overpass on the TxDOT system.
