City of Kyle Adopts Fiscal Year 2026–27 Budget Focused on Core Services and Infrastructure

KYLE, TEXAS – The Kyle City Council has adopted the FY 2026–27 Budget, a $437.8 million dollar plan that is structurally balanced with above minimum required reserve balance, funds all essential City services, operations and maintenance, and prioritizes core municipal services including public safety; street, sidewalk, and right-of-way maintenance; water and wastewater infrastructure; parks and library services, and resident support.

“When the budget process began, we faced a very different financial picture than where we are today,” Interim City Manager and Finance Director Perwez Moheet said. “Through careful planning, difficult conversations, and a renewed focus on our priorities, we arrived at a balanced and achievable budget that puts our community first while continuing to invest in the infrastructure and services needed to support Kyle’s Future.”

The budget sets a new property tax rate of $0.5460 per $100 of taxable value, a reduction of $0.0497 per $100 or 8.34% in property tax rates. Additionally, there is no increase in water, wastewater, and storm drainage fees for residents living within Kyle city limits and outside Kyle city limits. Kyle residents will see a 2.5% increase in solid waste/trash collection and recycling services.

The budget includes $288.5 million in Capital Improvement Program (CIP) spending in FY 2026-27 as part of an $838.8 five-year plan, funding 82 projects, that continues investment in public infrastructure, including the already underway Wastewater Treatment Plant expansion, new waterlines and water reservoirs to strengthen the city’s water supply, sidewalk improvements, and parks projects, while also advancing the 2022 voter-approved Road Bond program.

The adopted budget also maintains service levels across the organization, funding 460 full-time positions.

The FY 2026–27 Budget was adopted following public hearings on September 5 and 15, 2026. For more information and to view the full budget, visit CityofKyle.gov/Budget.
